There was a time when mankind had no wires. We were tethered to anything but daylight. Then we began to wrap ourselves around technology as though it breathed the life into use. Our wires maybe at times invisible but they are still there. We live on cellphones and computers, barely taking our eyes off the screens that stimulate our brain waves. Cut lose. Unplug the things you think you need, just for a day. Sit outside and let your brain unwind. If you live by the cord, you won’t know how to survive without an outlet.
Lately letterpress has become more and more popular. Personally, I have a deep love for wood type, embossing, carving and presses. Letterpresses have a type of beautiful elegance. They can be simple or highly defined. Either way it is hard for me to resist them. Letterpressing might be becoming over used but I am not sure I care! I came across Studio On Fire, a company that specializes in letterpress printing. I found a poster I enjoyed way too much. I think this shall be my next blog topic. Enjoy!

I haven’t had much time on my hands to keep up with the design exercises. For this I am sorry. So I have decided instead I shall turn this blog into a collection of my design inspirations. So stay tuned for a flow of inspiring thoughts, images and concepts!
Due to a back injury and heavy pressure to complete finals, I have had to put my daily exercises on hold. I hope to start back up again next week. There is a lot of projects I would really like to get done and only time and physical restraints are holding me back. =/

You ever wake up and have a question persistently bugging your consciousness? Mine is: who do you want to become?
Have you ever had that one moment when you hear or see something that changes your mind, your outlook, and/or your life? That one experience that made you reevaluate yourself? If you take this moment for what it is worth then this is what I call starting a new chapter. I have had a few of these moments and I am not going to lie, like most people I have had passion in my heart, motivation in my head and laziness in my actions. Meaning, I didn’t always do what needed to be done. Let me tell you though the worst thing than failing at something is regretting you never tried in the first place.
Well this is my new chapter. My beginning started awhile back with me not knowing where I wanted to go and my ending… well, that all depends on me. I may not have all the pieces figured out now and that question will continue to linger in the back of my head but I have faith that some day I will answer it with certainly. I challenge you like I am challenging myself to try something new. Find yourself. If you get nothing else from my ramblings, take away this: Try, fail, learn, succeed.
If you don’t try, you may never fail. If you don’t fail, you may never learn. If you never learn, you may never fully succeed.
